Right. So this is me starting a massive rehaul of the VK sites. I’ll probably let it go live as soon as I get the foundations tweaked, since these things always end up under construction for ages and I want to be posting already. Slow integration of older content to follow. Impatience and the obsessive-compulsive need to organize are pretty much the name of the game these days. Woot.

Two blogs down, two more to go The best part of fixing this stuff up is finding new pictures to put in the rotating headers, I think. I nearly doubled the area for graphics by cleaning up the extraneous texty stuff up there. Given, it isn’t really friendly to anybody with screens under 1280, but it’s been a LONG time since I’ve met anybody running something like that. Also, I just heard that WordPress 4.0 is coming out soonish? That freakin’ terrifies me. Might just have to clone a blog just to test out the new update, in case it’s …

I forgot where I read it, but somebody once wrote about how they set up their scheduling for blog posts to accommodate the multiple blogs they run. Now I find myself planning out the same thing. I like to average around 25 posts a month on this particular blog, but would like to still have time to update the other ones as well. Last month didn’t really count because I was just getting back into the groove of things and had a huge backlog to throw out all at once. This month, though, I’ve got to sit down and think …

Ah, the joys of self-hosting — you now go head-to-head with spambots directly. When it was just a few comments here and there, I didn’t mind since they were easy enough to just weed out as time allowed. I knew there were more of them milling about, but it didn’t seem worth the hassle to get anything big to handle them — kinda like baby roaches. But then last night one of them tried to change my password, so now measures have been taken. This is directed at you, evil little spambots. We’ve got an eye on you. Proceed at …

Have finished directing all cloned placeholder journals (don’t tell me you guys didn’t go and reserve your name at every new blogging site back during the last few LJ scares) back to this one, and was even able to put up a nifty streaming widget on some of them to give a live feed of this place. I’m feelin’ all thorough today. In other news, have amused myself by uploading several different headers onto this main page and my WoW journal so that every time people load the page they will see a different graphic. This could very quickly get …

Have been sorting through my old bookmarks and accessing sites that I haven’t peeked at in ages. At least this is making me clean out the cobwebs and get them all nice and updated, if only to point them all over here. I mean, really, who the heck has a Friendster anymore? Apparently, I do. From waaaay back when. You know, before MySpace. When the dinosaurs roamed. Yeesh. Just call me a digital packrat. Anyways, I think tomorrow I’m gonna dive into the blog clone spaceholders I registered for a couple years ago and weed those out properly as well. …

I promise! In other news, I meant to make chocolate chip cookies tonight but ended up with chocolate smeared cookies. Boo for really melty chips. PS. This is a test of my MySpace and Livejournal blog crossposting plugins, by the way

Plan Network Unification Step #2 — Facebook integration complete Also, have fixed comments so that they link back to people and will email responses like they used to in LJ. This place is feeling more like home every day.

Which is supposedly some amazing cross-platform blogging client that will leave my trusty ol’ Semagic in the dust. Only, y’know, they want money. We’ll see how well this turns out. Meh.

Have started the process of moving all my various blogs and sites over to a more consolidated form on my personal webspace. You know, the space and domains that I’ve been paying for over the past several years but have only been using as a glorified FTP server. Bad me. Anyways, finally decided to sit down and install WordPress instead of just staring at it accusingly like I have been for the past month. I plan to syndicate and keep my old LJs as long as they’ll be hosted, but just want to have it hosted on my servers. However, …
